Among the upcoming Korean dramas releasing in November 2024, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay fans will be most intrigued by Mr. Plankton as it’s penned by the same writer, Jo Young. The rom-com K-drama is centred around an ex-couple — a man who was accidentally born with the wrong name and the world’s most unlucky and unhappiest woman — who reconnect during the former’s last journey in life. Forced to accompany each other, the peculiar pair is pursued by the latter’s devoted groom, a chaebol heir, and his mother. The unique characters have one commonality: they can’t connect to or blend in with anyone, just like plankton. Mr. Plankton stars Woo Do Hwan and Lee Yoo Mi, marking their first on-screen collaboration in a K-drama, alongside Oh Jung Se and Kim Hae Sook, and will stream on Netflix.

5. The Fiery Priest 2 - November 8

The Fiery Priest unfolds as a short-tempered Catholic priest, who was an ex-NIS agent, and a cowardly detective working together to solve a murder case. The comedy crime action series’ second instalment will see the fiery priest’s OG crew tackling a drug cartel as a passionate drug investigation detective joins them. Marry You also stars Jo Soo Min, iKon member Ju-ne and Ji Yi Soo, and will stream on Netflix.

Yoo Yeon Seok makes his hotly anticipated K-drama comeback in When the Phone Rings. The romance mystery thriller series is a fascinating tale centred on a “show window” couple — they have been in an arranged marriage for three years with minimal communication — whose lives turn upside down as they receive a threatening phone call from a mysterious kidnapper. While the husband is the seemingly perfect and youngest presidential spokesperson, who is also the son of a prominent political family, his wife is a sign language interpreter who has lost her voice due to depression. When the Phone Rings marks Yoo Yeo Seok's first on-screen collaboration with Chae Soo Bin while also starring Heo Nam Joon and Jang Gyu Ri, and the show will stream on Netflix.
