What is Community Edition?

Community Edition is a developer-focused Pega Platform trial available to our community members anytime. It allows access to the complete dev toolset that comes with Pega Platform. This includes App Studio, Dev Studio, and Prediction Studio. Community Edition is a great way to explore Pega platform, augment your Pega Academy learning, build a POC, a demo, or start developing any Pega solution.

Where can I access my Community Edition trial?

When does my Community Edition trial expire?

You can view your trial’s current expiration date fromyour My Trials page.

How long does a Community Edition trial last?

Standard trials of Community Edition are 30 days and can be extended for an additional 15 days.

How can I extend my Community Edition trial?

To extend your Community Edition trial, go to yourMy Trialspage on My Pega.

  1. Power on your Community Edition trial instance if necessary.
  2. In the lower-right corner of the Community Edition trial card, click the Actions menu, thenExtend Trial 15 Days (One time).

Is it possible to keep my Community Edition trial system longer than that?

Community Edition is always here for you. While you can only have one system at a time, there is no restriction on the number of times you may sign up. Special requests for longer extensions may be sent to[emailprotected]but we encourage you to export your work and move it to a new Community Edition system when you need it.

How do I log into my Community Edition trial?

You use your Pega account credentials to log into your Community Edition trial or any Pega site (Pega.com, Community, Pega Academy, etc.)

Can I invite other users onto my Community Edition trial?

Absolutely! There’s an invite user feature in App Studio designed just for this.

NOTE: Invited users cannot power up your Community Edition trial from theirMy Trialspage, so they will need to coordinate with you to wake up the Community Edition trial instance if needed.

Troubleshooting tips and ticks

My Community Edition trial isn’t up – all I see is a 404 or 503 error – please help!

No need to panic! We power down Community Edition trials when they have been inactive. You can wake up your instance from yourMy Trials page. Powering up will just take a couple of minutes.

I am getting the error: SSO Login failure

This error indicates there is an issue with the operator record or password in your Community Edition trial.

To resolve this issue, simply reset your operator to the original default settings. This will reset your user to the shipped values and allow you to start over in a new application.

To reset the operator to default settings:

  1. Power on your Community Edition trial if necessary.
  2. In the lower-right corner of the Community Edition trial card click the Actions menu, and then clickReset Operator to default settings.

Unable to execute OIDC flow : Error authenticating user, contact administrator

This error typically occurs when incorrect changes are made to OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication process.

To resolve this issue, simply reset your operator to the original default settings. This will reset your user to the shipped values and allow you to start over in a new application.

To reset the operator to default settings:

  1. Power on your Community Edition trial, if necessary.
  2. In the lower-right corner of the Community Edition trial card click the Actions menu card, and then clickReset Operator to default settings.

ERROR: There has been an issue. Please contact your system administrator.

How can I access the database tables for my Community Edition trial?

You cannot access the database tables for Community Edition trials.

How can I move my work from my Community Edition trial to other systems?

In App Studio you can export from the Application Overview page, or in Dev Studio you can use the Application / Distribution / Export tools.
