UPDATE: I'm a little late to the party in posting on LinkedIn, but my last day on AccuWeather Early was earlier this month. While I certainly loved my Early team, we were unable to come to an agreement on a new contract, so I decided to pursue a new adventure.Right now, I'm still figuring out what I'd like that adventure to be... and I suppose that's an adventure in itself! If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them! In the meantime, here's a look at some of my latest work. You can find more on my website: kristinashalhoup.com

This was a huge mistake by AccuWeather. Your personality made weather fun, and sometimes that is hard to do. There is always golf. 🏌♀️ Best of luck!

Good morning! I am re-sharing my latest reel here on LinkedIn. If you have a few minutes to take a look at it, I would greatly appreciate any feedback and constructive criticism! News Directors & Chief Meteorologists: I have a few questions about my reel that I would love to get a few different perspectives on. 1. What good & bad things stand out about my reel?2. Is there anything big that is missing? What should I try next to incorporate into my weather casts? 3. If you received a “perfect reel,” what main points would it contain?I look forward to improving and learning in the coming months. https://lnkd.in/gTDr3i4G

🌊#Indonesiaconsists of more than 17,000 islands. Due to the number and wide distribution of the islands, continuous tide gauge measurement is very important for many reasons. Via an online platform, the inhabitants can access data from the tidal information system in real-time.🔢 VEGAPULS C 23 provides reliable measured values for this. The compact radar sensor is used at 40 measuring points in the island nation and is especially characterized by its- robustness and durabilityas well as its- simple operation/adjustment and precise focusing.💧 The challenging conditions at the seashore, like strong winds, constant wave motion, and salt water, do not affect the sensor’s measurement performance.➡ https://lnkd.in/ga9-_HXy#tidegaugemeasurement#radar#measurement#technology#sealevel

Good morning, happy coffee time and I hope you enjoy your day. This is #MrNIRPerson back for our special presentation today. You might not guess it, but Mr Person gets lots of requests. Why don't you do a Christmas show? How about another awards show? Can't you be a bit more entertaining? (OK, that last one might not be in the same category)But today's request comes from a learned scholar who is asking us what we think about the NIRCam and MIRI images from NASA and the Cassiopeia A as captured by the James Webb Space Telescope. https://lnkd.in/gB8v9wcBAnd truthfully, I do have a few opinions on this. First of all, why is it NIRCam and MIR Instrument? This sort of subtle MIR bullying has been going on since the 1950s. We are a firm supporter of the cause "Spectra are Spectra" and it doesn't matter if your wavelengths are longer or shorter (except to the molecules involved in the privacy of their own situation). Also, we note with great satisfaction that this is not from the Hubble telescope with that horribly unfortunate mirror incident that was caused by, um, yeah. But now PerkinElmer is split into two. We got the name but Revvity can have the credit for that mirror. Anyway, the Webb, it's great. And MrNIRPerson is a firm believer in the fact that astronomers are definitely higher on the prestige level than most NIR scientists and so I advocate copying the heck out of what they do. Notice they use very technical jargon like "the green part". It seems we need to break out the Crayola 64 pack more on our spectra and images because color is how the pros go.But mostly MrNIRPerson is intrigued by the beauty of the world around us and that includes the beauty of well presented spectra. All I want for Christmas is good data.Oops, got to go. I just got a text that Spectrum is coming over. And notice, they don't feel pressured to tell us what kind of spectrum it is.#AskMrNIRPerson #NIR

We are Introducing World's First and Only Satellite Build-Operate-Transfer proposition. Please visit our website:https://lnkd.in/dH_Ms9JHTo help tackle climate challenges and embark on a smart and data-driven sustainable development path, we will design and build your satellites, launch and operate the satellites, transfer the know-how and technology for data analysis, and give you sovereign ownership of your satellite and data of your natural heritage. We believe in open science and equitable partnerships that empower visionary nations and institutions to achieve their sustainable development goals without being lectured or judged by the Global North. We believe that carbon colonialism cannot be permitted, and space cannot be dominated by a few. Satellite Earth Observation has long been seen as a game-changing frontier for climate action, protection of the environment, and biodiversity. This data-driven and sustainable action and growth must be led by developing nations, who are the keepers and caretakers of this planet's natural heritage and provide it with oxygen. We believe that all nations, big and small, should have ownership of data that confirms their biodiversity, natural heritage, and carbon sinks to embark on smart nature conservation. We also believe that peaceful civilian space technology for smart management of forests, agriculture, and water resources should be in the hands of every community. We believe in partnering with and empowering them to lead the way in space and on this planet we call home.Let us build your earth observation satellites, and launch and operate them in partnership with your institutions, scientists, youth, and engineers.#satellitetechnology #satellite #earthobservation #sdgs

We each carry with us a personal "world map" - a collection of experiences, perspectives, and beliefs that shapes how we engage with the world. The more diverse and enriched these maps become, the broader and richer our individual worldviews grow.Has someone's understanding of the world led them to perceive you in a way that differed from the ''normal''?"How do you enrich your map?
