Following from the shoes thread, where's people getting their t-shirts from?

Just plain unpatterned/striped basic staple colours, basic regular fit (not into this skinny/muscle/v neck stuff) and made of good material that don't f*ck up (as in shrink) in the wash!

I struggle a lot with t-shirts (due to the autism) esp when there are labels.
T-shirts need to be soft and not get stuff and gritty after a few washes like a lot of clothes do.

The best ones by far are True Classic.
They are an annoying company who spam you all the time but their shirts are exceptional.
Soft and fit well- I wear a large (42" chest)

    Then American Apparel.
    Then Uniqlo.

Two things though- don't put them in the dryer- hang them out.
Also don't use too much washing powder- a tablespoon is enough for a wash, otherwise the clothes go crispy.

Built Different. Decent quality, discounts on bulk packs and great fit for me as a most generously build chap.

The True Classic ones look good, are the ones off Amazon legit? Just seen they're on there for £28 so not bad for a good quality tee. Tempted to get 1 to try out.

I'm a medium size so they're the most popular selling one so many places are out of stock of them.

American Apparel comes up alot (I think I saw a really old thread) but again, unless you get 'em off Amazon no UK retailers as far as I know.

Are they designed for bigger blokes? I can only see the smallest size is a Large (I wear a medium) as I'm not a very muscular built guy!!

I usually buy Hanes Beefy-T but recently got some from H&M which have worn and washed surprisingly well at a fiver each.

Rapanui are the nicest quality ones I've worn, but to be honest I just pop to Sainsburys and get the plain Tu ones - I get size up so they are loose and they fit nicely for that and usually last fairly well to be fair to them. Usually only about a fiver each so much more bargain basem*nt than the others mentioned here

I did a (totally non-scientific) experiment about a year ago, where I bought plain black T-shirts from a number of different high street shops (at prices from around £5 to £20) and then just wore them normally to see how they keep their colour, shape etc.

The result is pretty much that the ones from Sainsburys are as good as anything.

I'm pretty happy with Primark basics tbh, they wash well and are only £4 a pop

*edit* the Rapanui bundle deal is superb - go for that! I like their stuff too T-shirts (again) - Off Topic Discussions on theFretBoard (46)

That's where my current t-shirts are from haha. They're not bad but they do fade or rip apart after a few months.

Another +1 for Rapanui - nice quality and have lasted me well so far (roughly a year)

Yes the 7 pack of Rapanui tshirts isan excellent deal to be fair - I've got a couple I designed myself via Teemill which is their custom designed drop shipping thing and they are the nicest feeling shirts. I'd still prefer the sainsburys ones for knocking about the house though as I'd feel guilty wearing out nice ones at home

I’m always looking for decent t-shirts. At the moment am just buying Next black t-shirts, they fit fine (on me) and are cheap enough, plus last a while.

I almost always wear some sort of band t-shirt, outside of that I mostly buy ones from Samuraiif I can catch them. Their henleys are great, too.

The only t-shirts I wear these days are either:

under an overshirt - where I need them to tuck in - so I get ones that are extra length cos of my tubby tummy (ASOS is a reliable place to find ones that really are extra length)

the occasional 'nice' one - for which I have 2 Sunspels (one short sleeve one long sleeve)

I don't really wear a t-shirt as an out/only layer any more though

    Red ones are better.

Don't recommend Rapanui flannel shirts though. Cut for the surfer beach bum look. I favour the more preppy Uniqlo style.

Colourful Standard do terrific plain t-shirts. 100% cotton and made in Portugal. £30 a shirt but if you look around you can pick them up for around half that.
