He was born September 23, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Curtis Bryan Cotton and Anna Elizabeth Nugent Cotton. Richard was a dedicated and hard worker and started working at the Don Drive part-time while attending Thomas Jefferson High School. He worked for Gulf Oil Corporation, Marine Department and when it shut down, he went right to work for American Heavy Shipping Company as Chief Engineer, where he retired. Wilma was a firm believer in God and was comforted by her faith and family. Wilma was born on November 2, 1938, in Tarkington Prairie, to Bessie Viola co*ker and Johnnie Earsel co*ker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nederland where she often met with her Sunday School Class for activities. She graduated in 1957 from Nederland High School and enjoyed meeting up with her graduating classmates often. Wilma retired from Lamar University. She was also involved for many years with the Red Hat Society, as well as various community activities. Blanca Estela Garcia Gutierrez, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at her home in Nederland, Texas. Blanca was born on April 15, 1951, in Reynosa, Mexico, to her parents Manuel Garcia and Maria del Socorro Gutierrez, and was raised in Reynosa alongside her little sister, Aminta. Blanca was a proud graduate of the School of Nursing in Tampico/Madero, Mexico. Later in life, she acquired her pediatric nursing degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas followed and by an Administrative Nurse certification in Mexico City. She was very loved and adored by her local community and everyone knew her as Blanquita, the very caring pediatric nurse and supervisor at the PEMEX Hospital in Reynosa Tamaulipas. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Larry lived a life rich with passion and dedication to his community and family. Larry was born May 26, 1957, in Gladewater, to Betty Ann Moody Walls and James Franklin Walls. He grew up in Lewisville, Texas, where he graduated and attended respiratory therapy school. Larry was a long-time resident of Winnie, Texas, before moving to Nederland, where he spent the later part of his life. Charles Aaron McKinley III, 95, of Nederland, died Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was born February 2, 1929, in Beaumont, to Opal Collins Herrington McKinley and Charles Aaron McKinley, Jr. Charles loved deer hunting and fishing in Bolivar Bay. He served in the United States Coast Guard and the National Guard. Charles retired from Amerpol-Synpol rubber production plant in Port Neches. He was an excellent carpenter. He was always willing to help others and will forever be remembered as a loving father, husband, and grandfather. Survivors include his children, Charles A. McKinley IV, William “Bill” McKinley and wife, Rhonda, and Moina Cooper; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Midge was born on November 16, 1939, exactly two minutes before her identical twin sister Carolyn, to Margie Evelyn Way and Vernon E. Way in Beacon, New York. She graduated from Beacon High School in 1957 and on May 30, 1964, she married her husband John E. May. They moved to Texas in 1966. He was born October 3, 1933, to Inez Robin Hubert and Alfred Victor Hubert, Sr. Vic was a native of Nederland, Texas, later moving his family to LaBelle. Joining the U.S. Army at the age of 22, he was extremely proud of serving his country. He had an older sister named Loretta. John attended St. Ignatius School in Portland, Oregon. John served in The U.S. Army Reserves from April 27, 1965, up until April 18, 1968. He began his career in the trucking industry which lasted about 40 years. He married Joyce Sullenberger, they were married 48 years and had two daughters, Kaye and Cathy Luttenberger. John spent most of his childhood in the Beaumont area and during high school he met and fell in love with his lifelong sweetheart, Irleen. They married immediately following John’s Navy bootcamp in 1957 and were blessed with 67 beautiful years together. She was born September 16, 1953, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Agnes Marie Steffier Newkirk and Fred Pitman Newkirk, Jr. Following high school, Cindy pursued a degree in psychology but was drawn towards cosmetology due to her passion for people as she never met a stranger. Her enthusiasm for hairdressing and makeup, coupled with her love for socializing, led her into this field. After relocating from Delaware to Texas, she continued her love for people and became a daycare teacher at First Baptist Church and later went on to become pharmacy technician. She retired from Oak Farms after 50+ years of employment, after which she enjoyed time with those closest to her. She was born to the late Murphy and Edna Boudreaux, September 17, 1939, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by her niece, Jamie Tomplait and husband, Paul Tomplait, of Kirbyville. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Denson; sons, William Denson and Cameron Denson; sisters, Michelle Williamson and Mary Istre; stepson, Braxston Phillips; and grandchildren, Remington and Frankie Denson. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Clay Williamson. She was born July 04, 1942, in Port Arthur to Howard (Red) Touchette and Rosa Pelloat. She was known to many as “Dot”. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres. She married the love of her life, John A Fuselier, on November 23, 1964. She was a proud Military wife and homemaker and together they raised two daughters. She was a proud Maw Maw to four granddaughters and Gigi to nine great grandchildren.
