One of the aspects of WandaVision that makes it connect so well with the audience is the ability of the show to balance its humor with its darkness. While the series as a whole sees Wanda Maximoff coming to terms with her own grief, it also features a lot of funny moments thanks to the embedding of sitcom styles and tropes.

It's not just the style that brings the fun though. There are also a lot of lines in the series that do the work to make the audience laugh. While a lot of the humor in the dialogue is reliant on the delivery of the actor saying the lines, there are also some that are funny no matter what.
10 "I'm A Regular Carbon Based Employee Made Entirely Of Organic Matter, Much Like Yourself, Norm."
Much of the humor in the early episodes of the series is a result of Wanda and Vision trying to keep the reality that he's a synthezoid under wraps. Vision isn't entirely great at pretending to be a "regular human."
While trying to convince his coworker Norm that he's just like everyone else, Vision identifies himself as a "regular carbon-based employee." Of course, Vision is actually made of mostly vibranium.
9 "We Are An Unusual Couple."
This particular line from Wanda didn't just appear in the series. It also got its fair share of play thanks to advertisem*nts for the show.
Elizabeth Olsen's delivery of the line, said in the same tongue-in-cheek way of plenty of wives in sitcoms of the '40s and '50s, makes the line better. On its own, it's a standard observation and Wanda and Vision being a couple. With Olsen's delivery, it's a joke that the audience is in on as the sitcom world builds around the titular characters.
8 "My Mother-In-Law Was In Town, So I Wasn't."
Long before Agnes is revealed to really be the witch Agatha Harkness, she fills the role of Wanda's eccentric neighbor. When Agnes first comes over to introduce herself to Wanda, not only does she bring her a plant, but she offers up this quote as an explanation for no introducing herself sooner.
It's the start of Agnes' repeated disparaging remarks aimed at her "husband" Ralph, Throughout the run of the show, until Ralph's identity is revealed, Agnes seems to tolerate him, but not by much.
7 "Looking Forward To The Commemorative T-Shirt."
WandaVisionreintroduces Darcy Lewis to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last seen by audiences in Thor: The Dark World, Darcy is now a doctor of astrophysics and someone government organizations call in for a consultation.

When Darcy tries to get more information out of the people she's riding with to Westview, however, she doesn't have much luck. In her first episode, she continually gets more frustrated when no one pays attention to her, but her joke about looking forward to remembering the top-secret experience with a commemorative shirt lightens the mood and acts as a meta nod to the MCU. After all, all of the secret organizations in the MCU have their own official merchandise.
6 "My Wife And Her Flying Saucers..."
The first episodes took a lot of inspiration from classic sitcoms like The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bewitched. In fact, the style of humor employed as Wanda uses her magic and tries to hide the truth from the neighbors might as well have been right out of Bewitched. When she accidentally nails Vision with plates while he walks into the kitchen, he remarks, "My wife and her flying saucers."
Of course, since he's not injured, Wanda answers with, "My husband and his indestructible head." While the lines themselves are funny, it's a bittersweet exchange calling to mind some of the sadness Scarlet Witch has already faced. In Avengers: Infinity War, Wanda used "flying saucers" against the enemy in Wakanda while Vision saw the mind stone forcibly removed from his head by both Wanda and Thanos. It's a nice look at the layers to the humor in the series.
5 "You Move At The Speed Of Sound And I Can Make A Pen Float Through The Air. Who Needs To Abbreviate?"
The big mystery of the very first episode of the series is just why there's a heart on the calendar in the Vision residence. Wanda gets it in her head that she must have forgotten their anniversary, but that's not the case. As it turns out, the heart is meant to denote a dinner with the Harts - Vision's boss and the man's wife.
Wanda is both amused and frustrated when she discovers the meaning of the heart. WhenVision and the Scarlet Witch have such extraordinary abilities, do they really need to cut a few seconds of time from writing a notation on the calendar?
4 "Lagos. For When You Make A Mess You Didn't Mean To."
This line comes courtesy of one of the many commercials present in WandaVision. In this case, the product advertised is Lagos paper towels. It's a great example of some of the gallows humor employed in the series.

Lagos is where Scarlet Witch didn't properly control her powers in Captain America: Civil War. As a result, she caused a serious amount of damage and injuries. It was an accident, but a dangerous one, and one that caused the development of the Sokovia Accords in the MCU. She literally created a mess she couldn't clean up, and that mess is just one step on her way to Westview.
3 "She Recast Pietro?"
As Darcy watches the sitcom world of WandaVision unfold, she's very much the voice of the audience. Her reactions are exactly what the audience is saying while they're streaming the series.
When Evan Peters debuted in the show as Pietro, coming to Wanda's door and proclaiming himself her "long lost big bro," Darcy was as shocked as the audience. "She recast Pietro," opened up a lot of speculation and theory-making for the audience while making them laugh.
2 "It's Not Like Your Dead Husband Can Die Twice."
The version of Pietro Maximoff who ends up in Wanda's fantasy world isn't exactly the same as the ones the audience saw in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. His sense of humor, for one, is quite a bit darker.
When Wanda worries that Vision is in trouble, Pietro brushes off her concern. He even jokes that Vision can't die twice so she has nothing to worry about. While it's a humorous take meant to lighten the moment, the audience doesn't get to enjoy the joke long before Wanda turns on him and literally blasts him away. Clearly, some topics are off-limits when it comes to his jokes.
1 "I Don't Have A Skeleton, Sir."
One thing that makes so many of the early one-liners in the series work is Paul Bettany's deadpan delivery of them. When his boss wonders about potential skeletons in Vision's closet, Vision takes him a little more literally before telling Mr. Hart that he doesn't have a skeleton.
Considering he's made of vibranium, his anatomy isn't the same as the average human, that's for sure. It's a little on the nose, but it still pulls laughs from the audience.
