This moment is a powerful blow to the viewer, but even more so to Wanda, who realizes for the first time that her husband is unhappy in this perfect world she'd crafted for them. His admission of fear is also remarkable considering Vision's origins as a synthezoid who feels emotion differently than the average human.
When Wanda Was Overwhelmed With Grief

Wanda Maximoff has suffered greatly in her life, losing almost everyone whom she'd ever held dear. One of the worst losses she ever endured was that of her brother Pietro, who died at the hands of Ultron during the Battle of Sokovia. Shortly thereafter, she confided her feelings of hopelessness in Vision.
This line is unfortunately very relatable to many who have suffered similar losses. The emotion of grief tends to be tricky to surmount, as it seems to rise up stronger with each day. It can be easy to feel like one might drown in such feelings, but the waters do eventually dissipate.
When Wanda Had Westview Under Her Spell

One line that is repeated on several occasions throughout the show is a chant uttered by the people of Westview. While the main characters sometimes poke fun at this somewhat creepy motto, as the circ*mstances behind the Westview Anomaly become clearer, so does the motivation behind this phrase.

With the understanding that Wanda was mentally hijacking Westview's residents, often keeping many of them, especially the children, closed within their own room until they were needed, the town's motto can be interpreted as a veiled plea by its inhabitants for Wanda to let their children go. This is a repeated reminder to Wanda that she is not the hero of this story.
When Vision Had A Unique Perspective On What It Means To Be Alive

Vision has taken many forms throughout the MCU, beginning as JARVIS and eventually becoming a fully animated body. As the Westview Anomaly begins to close around him, the synthezoid comments on his many renditions before fading away with the rest of Wanda's hex.
Despite the sadness that permeates it, this scene is one of the best shared between Wanda and Vision in the MCU, as both seem acutely aware of their own storylines. Vision's words hint at a glimmer of sadness, but ultimately present a hope that he may return someday in another form.
When Monica Understood What Wanda Was Going Through

Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Maria Rambeau, a close confidant of Carol Danvers in her time on earth. Monica was killed when Thanos snapped his fingers duringInfinity War, returning only to learn that her mother had died in the interim.

It is Monica's grief over her mother's death that acts as a foil to Wanda's, as both deal with the emotion in very different ways. Nevertheless, Monica reveals to Wanda that she is sure she would have made the same choices had she been given the opportunity.
When Vision Was Really Gone

After the Vision's death at the hands of Thanos, Wanda seeks out his body, which has been claimed by SWORD. After coming across his dismantled body, Wanda realizes that she can feel none of his personality left within the corpse on the table, utteringone of the saddest quotes in all of the MCU.
This line is a heart-wrenching callback to some of Vision's last words, as he assured Wanda that he could "just feel her" as she destroyed the Mind Stone in his head. Knowing that she could no longer feel Vision was what finally drove Wanda torecognize that he was really gone.
When Wanda Expressed Her Love To Billy And Tommy
"Boys, Thanks For Choosing Me To Be Your Mom." — Wanda.
Many fans were delighted to see Wanda and Vision's children, Billy and Tommy, adapted from the comic books. However, this delight would be short-lived, as thetwins were erased from existence as Wanda's hex closed. Before this happened, Wanda took one last opportunity to say goodbye to her children.
It has been said that there is no greater loss than that of one's own children. Wanda would feel this pain twofold, as she was forced to say goodbye to her twin sons only days after their birth. This scene is even more tragic considering that, while Wanda and Vision knew what was about to happen, the boys went to bed completely unaware of their coming fate. The grief over their loss may be what pushes Wanda to become the antagonist inMultiverse of Madness.
When Vision Asked Wanda What He Is
"You Are A Body Of Wires And Blood And Bone That I Created. You Are My Sadness And My Hope. But Mostly, You're My Love." — Wanda To Vision.
As the hex closes, Vision asks Wanda one last time to tell him what he is. After all, he is not the Vision that fought with the Avengers. Wanda responds by telling him that he is her creation, but is no less real than any version of Vision that came before.
This quote puts a bow on Vision's storyline throughout the series, as he finally learns the truth about his existence. Though it isn't all good news, the synthezoid was able to fade from existence with the knowledgethat all his emotions and memories were real.
When Wanda And Vision Said Goodbye
Vision: "We Have Said Goodbye Before, So It Stands To Reason..."
Wanda: "...We'll Say Hello Again."
After realizing just how much she is torturing the town of Westview, Wanda makes the difficult choice to bring her hex down. In doing so, she also erases her husband and children from existence. Before he fades, Vision shares one last exchange with his wife.
Saying goodbye like this was one of the worst things that ever happened to Wanda. Despite hoping that this wouldn't be the last time she ever spoke with her husband, she knew that saying goodbye could prove to be quite final. Audiences have yet to see where this newfound grief will take her.
When Vision Understood The Ache Of Love And Loss
"I've Never Experienced Loss, Because I've Never Had A Loved One To Lose. But What Is Grief If Not Love Persevering?" — Vision.
In one of their first exchanges, Wanda shares her feelings of grief with Vision. Though he cannot relate to this level of human emotion quite yet, Vision offers a surprisingly comforting perspective on the very notion of grief, providing Wanda with a precious bit of solace.
Not only is this line beautifully written and delivered, but it also perfectly summarizes the entire message behindWandaVision.Grief is a difficult emotion to cope with, but it ultimately remains the enduring reflection of one's love for that which was lost. In such terms, grief is truly a beautiful emotion.
